Ålesund Municipality, together with companies in the region, will find whether it is sustainable to establish post-sorting facilities locally.

The initiators are three municipally owned professional companies within waste. Through the Smart Circular City project, they have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to look at whether post-sorting facilities are a necessary measure for waste management in the region. This project was a collaboration between Ålesund Municipality, NTNU, Tafjord Kraftvarme, Bingsa Gjenvinning and the Ålesund Region's Intermunicipal Environmental Company IKS (ÅRIM).

Financing: Through climate rate funds from the Norwegian Environment Agency.

The project must submit a final report at the end of the project.
